With the help of the document management systems provided by the-project.co.uk, Birse completed their project on schedule in December 2002 taking only 14 months to complete this impressive stadium.
Key Benefits

Extranet costs were saved in printing costs alone. However bigger savings were realised by early identification of any errors, allowing more effective project management and thus reduced wastage.
Overall, through faster dissemination of information it allowed a wider group to contribute to the design and supply chain.
The Approach
By using the-project.co.uk all the information was centralised and continually available worldwide. All document revisions were retained and every transaction audited. The service was used daily and there were over 13000 documents published with over 220 users from 38 different organisations accessing the system. On average the team accessed the system 560 per week.
the-project.co.uk allowed Birse to manage and liaise effectively between themselves and all the other organisations involved in the creation of the new super stadium. It allowed Birse to have strong control over the project at all times with the facility of them being able to see what documents were being uploaded and who was accessing them.
By using the document management system effectively they were able to establish an overview of the-projects progress and enable fast communication between all the parties involved. Through doing this Birse were able to complete the project on schedule, whilst making additional tangible savings such as reduced wastage and administration costs.
